Lunch at Chianti Region

We had a whole day for exploring the Tuscany region albeit a day is too short to really discover this beautiful, midieval region. Anyways, we had lunch on our way to San Gimignano from Siena. We had spaghetti, and yummy cold cuts (peperoncino and prosciutto) with some cheeses; all organic and homemade – yes, even the pasta. We had three courses and we had a wine for each course.

My favorite part though was dessert. Had cantuccini dipped on uber delicious sweet wine (yes, this is our fourth wine for the day – at lunch). The sweet wine was soo good that it was such a waste I could not drink it as it is. It’s very concentrated you see. Sweet wines are fermented from grapes which were left to shrivel on its vines, plucked, pressed and left to ferment for three to four years. Its sweetness just goes right with the cantuccini. We had to let the sweet wine fully soak the biscotti though as the cantuccini is quite unfriendly to my braces.

Hmm.. I wonder where can I get some good sweet wine around here. And well, some good cantuccini at that.
